En una entrevista exclusiva a Aeronoticias, el Representante Regional Adjunto para las Américas de la OMT, Marco Balarezo, aseguró que la Organización Mundial del Turismo se ha unido a la lucha contra la pobreza a través del Programa Reducción de la Pobreza y el Desarrollo Sostenible del Turismo, y que en el Perú desarrolla proyectos con montos de inversión de 150 mil a 200 mil dólares.<\/span><\/p>\n

El representante de la OMT Informó que este año no va a haber un decrecimiento del turismo y que el 2009 presenta expectativas no muy claras, aunque la tendencia es que se mantengan un crecimiento fuerte. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Aseveró que la OMT maneja las estadísticas que les brindan los países miembros y que en lo referido a Cuenta Satélite, que permite ver cuánto ingresa por turismo y cuánto empleo se genera por esta actividad, entre otros aspectos, Perú está haciendo un excelente trabajo en lo referido a la Cuenta Satélite.<\/span><\/p>\n

“No va a haber decrecimiento del turismo a nivel regional”<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>“No hemos decrecido, las últimas cifras que hemos obtenido en junio, a nivel mundial y regional, es que este año 2008 no vamos a decrecer. El año pasado crecimos 6%. Estamos calculando que este año podríamos estar creciendo en el orden de 5 ó 6% incluso. O sea no va a haber prácticamente decrecimiento a nivel regional, la región América Latina lo esta haciendo bien junto con el Asia”, expresó a Aeronoticias el Representante Regional Adjunto para las Américas de la OMT, Marco Balarezo.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Expectativas para el 2009 no muy claras<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Ahora, el 2009 ya es una cosa distinta porque ahí todavía hay unas expectativas un poco negativas sobre cómo evoluciona la economía. Sí efectivamente está hacia un escenario de crecimiento firme o simplemente va pasar este pequeño periodo de caída de producto o si los precios internacionales de petróleo van a seguir incrementándose. O sea todavía estamos en un escenario de expectativas, en un escenario donde aun no tenemos claro cuál va a hacer el panorama del 2009, pero el 2008, lo que si le digo es que el turismo no va tener un decrecimiento como se esperaba ni mucho menos. O sea está yendo bien”, expresó Balarezo.<\/span><\/p>\n

 Tendencia es que se mantengan un crecimiento fuerte<\/strong><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Agregó que la tendencia mundial es que se mantenga un crecimiento fuerte como lo el que ha tenido el año pasado del 6% y si cae, cae 1% digamos. Un crecimiento de 5% es bastante. Es un crecimiento bien sólido. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>Cuenta Satélite y avances en Latinoamérica<\/strong><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Tras indicar que la Cuenta Satélite es una metodología estadística que permite ver cuánto ingresa por turismo y cuánto gastas por turistas y el empleo que se genera en el sector, el Representante Regional Adjunto para las Américas de la OMT, Marco Balarezo, señaló que “Perú está haciendo un trabajo excelente” en lo que respecta a la Cuenta Satélite y está avanzando bastante.<\/span> <\/p>\n
