La Comisi\u00f3n Federal de Comunicaciones (FCC, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) envi\u00f3 el viernes una carta a Google, solicitando informaci\u00f3n sobre su servicio Google Voice, que permite a la gente suscribirse para contar con un n\u00famero que puede desviar las llamadas entrantes a tel\u00e9fonos celulares, de oficina o de casa.<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">El servicio permite tambi\u00e9n que los usuarios hagan llamadas, incluso internacionales, a precios bajos. Como parte de un conflicto m\u00e1s amplio con Google, AT&#038;T ha se\u00f1alado que Google Voice bloquea las llamadas a n\u00fameros telef\u00f3nicos en algunas comunidades rurales para reducir los cargos de acceso que debe pagar. La llamada regulaci\u00f3n de \u00aboperador com\u00fan\u00bb impiden que AT&#038;T y otras grandes compa\u00f1\u00edas telef\u00f3nicas bloqueen esas mismas llamadas.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/stories\/09\/10\/121009\/googlephone.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"EEUU ABRE INVESTIGACI\u00d3N DE SERVICIO GOOGLE VOICE \" title=\"EEUU ABRE INVESTIGACI\u00d3N DE SERVICIO GOOGLE VOICE \" \/><\/div>\n<p>Google Voice \u00abha reclamado para s\u00ed misma una ventaja significativa sobre los proveedores que compiten ofreciendo sus servicios\u00bb, se\u00f1al\u00f3 AT&#038;T el mes pasado, en una carta a la FCC. Esas preocupaciones fueron repetidas en una misiva enviada a la FCC esta semana por 20 miembros del congreso que representan a distritos rurales.<\/p>\n<p>Entre otras peticiones, la FCC ha se\u00f1alado que Google debe explicar c\u00f3mo funciona su servicio Voice, si bloquea llamadas a ciertos n\u00fameros y si informa de ello a los usuarios. En un \u00abblog\u00bb publicado el viernes, Richard Whitt, abogado de telecomunicaciones y medios de Google en Washington, explic\u00f3 que Google Voice restringe las llamadas a n\u00fameros telef\u00f3nicos controlados por compa\u00f1\u00edas que \u00abcobran tarifas exorbitantes de interconexi\u00f3n de las llamadas\u00bb y \u00abtienen sociedades con l\u00edneas de conversaci\u00f3n de contenido sexual para adultos, as\u00ed como con centros de conferencias telef\u00f3nicas &#8216;gratuitas&#8217; para conducir altos vol\u00famenes de tr\u00e1fico\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00f1adi\u00f3 que Google no pod\u00eda darse el lujo de ofrecer el servicio \u00absi pagara estos cargos tremendamente altos\u00bb.
